Dort wurden ihm alle n\u00f6tigen Kenntnisse und Verfahrensweisen an die Hand gegeben, die der Bau eines hochpr\u00e4zisen Instrumentes erfordert. Mit umfassenden Einblicken bestens f\u00fcr die Zukunft ausgestattet, gr\u00fcndete er 1871 in Berlin sein erstes Unternehmen, die Bambergwerke.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"p-die-ersten-gehversuche\">Die ersten Gehversuche<\/h3>\n<p>Anfangs fokussierte sich die Werkstatt auf das Schaffen hochwertiger und nicht minder pr\u00e4ziser Instrumente f\u00fcr die Marine, Observatorien, Forschungen und Expeditionen. Der erste Auftrag umfasste die Reparatur eines Stativkopfs f\u00fcr die kaiserliche Admiralit\u00e4t, die auf so famose Art und Weise gelang, dass die Besitzerin vor Begeisterung kaum an sich haltend Marinekompasse, Chronometer und Deckwatches orderte. In Folge dessen wurde das Unternehmen mit Auftr\u00e4gen regelrecht \u00fcberh\u00e4uft. Innerhalb k\u00fcrzester Zeit avancierten Produkte der Schmiede zum Synonym f\u00fcr Pr\u00e4zision und Zuverl\u00e4ssigkeit. 1976 \u2013 5 Jahre nach der Gr\u00fcndung \u2013 feierte die Marke im Ausland bereits gro\u00dfe Erfolge. Mit Pr\u00e4senz auf der internationalen Ausstellung in London und der Weltausstellung in Philadelphia gelang es dem Unternehmen endg\u00fcltig, sich eine internationale Reputation aufzubauen. Neben Bambergs Funktion als Kopf des Unternehmens entwickelte er 1878 seinen ersten Zeitball, der bis 1934 in Betrieb war. Bei diesem Instrument handelt es sich um einen kugelf\u00f6rmigen K\u00f6rper zur pr\u00e4zisen Zeitangabe und \u2013abstimmung f\u00fcr Schiffe.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"p-fusionen-erweitern-das-geschaeftsfeld\">Fusionen erweitern das Gesch\u00e4ftsfeld<\/h3>\n<p>Mit dem Tod Carl Bambergs im Jahr 1892 ging der Vorsitz zun\u00e4chst an seine Frau, Emma Roux, \u00fcber, die diesen 1904 wiederum an Paul Bamberg abgab. Unter seiner Leitung gewann die Marke weiter an Bedeutung und konnte bedeutende Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten wie Graf Zeppelin zu seinen Kunden z\u00e4hlen. Zu Beginn der n\u00e4chsten Dekade \u00fcbernahm Max Roux die Geschicke des Unternehmens und fusionierte kurze Zeit sp\u00e4ter mit der Central Werkstatt Dessa. Fortan bildeten sie die Askania Werke AG. 1919 komplettierte Otto Toepfer\/Potsdam den Dreibund, der in einem horrenden Wachstumsschub gipfelte, sodass Ende der 1920er Jahre Zweigstellen in Paris, Houston und Chicago entstanden waren. Im Sortiment erfolgte eine Spezialisierung auf Filmkameras, Vermessungsger\u00e4te, Borduhren und Bordinstrumente, die kaum ein Flugzeughersteller missen wollte. Die pr\u00e4zisionstechnische Kr\u00f6nung der Askania Werke bildete die 1936 erworbene Ehre, die Zeitmesser bei den olympischen Spielen stellen zu d\u00fcrfen.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"p-zerstreuung-und-vereinigung\">Zerstreuung und Vereinigung<\/h3>\n<p>Nach Ende des zweiten Weltkriegs wurden gro\u00dfe Teile der Marke zwar wiederaufgebaut, waren jedoch in diverse L\u00e4nder verstreut und verkauft worden. Erst 2004 besannen sich Aktion\u00e4re auf eine Neugr\u00fcndung der Askania AG in Berlin, die seitdem Uhren gem\u00e4\u00df der Askania-Instrumententechnik entwirft und produziert.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"p-handarbeit-made-in-germany\">Handarbeit \u201emade in Germany\u201c<\/h3>\n<p>Die mechanischen Askania-Uhren werden auch heute noch ausschlie\u00dflich in Deutschland und von erstklassigen Uhrmachermeistern St\u00fcck f\u00fcr St\u00fcck in Berlin-Friedenau handgefertigt. Eine Askania macht Freude, ist Ausdruck der Pers\u00f6nlichkeit und des Charakters.
